Connolly was the Curator & Organiser of this event.<o:p></o:p> Connolly invited International Artists, National Artists & Local Artists to participate in the week long event including public Performances, Student Workshop and a public Lecture.<o:p></o:p> The Belfast International Festival of Performance Art is an annual festival, which evolved out of a series of previous performance art events within the Belfast School of Art. It was established as an independent festival program within the University in 2016.<o:p></o:p> BIFPA generates new performance artworks by international, national & local artists, along with work created by students and recent graduates of the Fine Art Course. The festival aims to provide opportunities for students to encounter, witness, participate and experience contemporary performance art practice.<o:p></o:p> Much of the planning, organising and running of the festival is achieved with the help of student volunteers, graduate residents, recent graduates and local artists.<o:p></o:p> The key artists who were Invited to perform were: Sandra Johnston & Dominic Thorpe - Belfast & Ireland, Elvira Santamaria Torres - Mexico/Belfast, Keike Twisselman - Germany, Helena Hamilton - Belfast (in Collaboration with Undergraduates students), Bbeyond, etc. A Lecture on the Dublin Live Art Festival and the 'Future Histories' Project at Kilmainham Jail was given by Niamh Murphy. A student workshop, hosted by Thorpe, MacWilliam & Rankin ran over two days at the start of the week. A screening of past performance events from BIFPA was screened in the Foyer throughout the week and 'Equinox' film by Bbeyond was screened at the opening of the event.<o:p></o:p>
