The Talking TYA Research Network Conference, 2024 is organised in collaboration with Baboró International Arts Festival for Children and hosted by the Discipline of Children's Studies, University of Galway Its focus is on how performance is put to work for children and young people (CYP). CYP across Ireland encounter theatre and performance in many forms. It is clear that there are disparities in access to and support for these forms, according to geographical location; socio-economic class; cultural capital; and the priorities of government policies and funders over time, for example. Nonetheless, practitioners and policy makers see value in the work to which theatre for CYP is put through these forms. This event consists of panels and presentations that address these or other related topics to examine the work to which performance is put for CYP.
