This project comprised both primary and secondary research to establish differentiations in the costs associated with producing social and private housing in Northern Ireland. The study includes a review of housing standards contrasting NI with other UK regions and ROI. A series of stakeholder interviews were undertaken with HAs and sub-contractors, this was combined with analysis and reviews of HA bids for funding in Northern Ireland to form an evidence base to determine cost margins and to highlight scope for improving effectiveness and enhancing value for money to the public sector purse.
