Activity: Participating in or organising an event › Organising a conference, workshop, ...

Description

As part of the yearly Northern Ireland Science Festival, the Architects of Change programme (part of Future Island-Island) organised and facilitated a children's board game design workshop held at the Ulster Museum, Belfast. At these workshops, children children learnt about key beach and marine plastic statistics, visited the Plastic Soup exhibition in the Ulster Museum, interacted with beach clean artefacts and designed board games to fight plastic pollution in our beaches and seas.

There were two workshops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with a total of 35 children from ages 7-11 participating. Three colleagues from Ulster University (Beach cleaner, poet, and artist) facilitated these workshops and encouraged the children to create imaginative board games that reflected their learning.
