Description
The Tea Sanctuary was a performance co-facilitated by Pamela Whitaker and Gail Calwell for participants at the Northern Ireland Group for Art as Therapy Summer School. The performance involved drinking herbal teas as remedies for disillusionment, loss and despair within a nature composed installation. The tea vessels were donated for the ceremony by Chris McHugh (Lecturer in Ceramics) at the Belfast School of Art. The purpose of the tea sanctuary was to compose a place of welcome and hospitality and to form connections to shared experiences of disenchantment and also replenishment.
