BEYOND is an annual conference for thinkers, makers, investors and researchers across the creative industries, exploring the relationship between creative research and business innovation. The 2023 conference theme shone a spotlight on the huge role UK creatives are playing in building some extraordinary ground-breaking projects as part of international teams. Showcasing this phenomenal work, BEYOND 2023 asked if these projects are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the potential of building new global partnerships for the creative industries. The 2022 conference was hosted in Cardiff, 2021 came from Belfast, and in 2020 we went fully virtual due to the pandemic. Before that, delegates visited Edinburgh in 2019 and London in 2018 for the inaugural BEYOND conference. Each year, BEYOND is attended by organisations from across the creative industries (gaming, film & tv, music, fashion, theatre, visual arts & more), including Aaardman, ASOS, BBC, Sony, Punchdrunk, the Royal Shakespeare Company & many more pioneering names. Attendees can expect lively Q&As and discussions across breakout sessions, workshops, seminars, special events, networking, showcases, demos and more. BEYOND 2023 was supported by its Founding Partner UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council, together with Programme Partners, the British Council.
