Description

A specialist international workshop examining the relationship between placenames and ecology in a European context. Organised by Gaois, Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge at Dublin City University in conjunction with the Placenames Branch, the workshop continued the biennial series of placenames workshops established in 2012. The event brought together researchers and specialists in toponymy, language, landscape and related disciplines to consider the ecological information preserved in placenames and the wider significance of naming traditions for understanding landscape and environmental history.
