Abstract: This project looks at the experience of families living with genetic disease, with a specific focus on the choices they now face as a result of advanced reproductive technologies (ART). If art can assist in communicating complex scientific, social and ethical ideas visually and experientially to a wider audience, the challenge of this project is to do so photographically, using the family portrait.
