KESS-A Fresh Look at Community Engagement and Regeneration: Toward Good Practice and Innovative Policy in Northern Ireland

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Related to Golden and Dawe's published research report, "A Fresh Look at Community Engagement and Regeneration: Toward Good Practice and Innovative Policy in Northern Ireland", Golden presented to the Northern Ireland Assembly's Knowledge Exchange Seminar Series, discussing evidence-based research examining government policy impacts on public engagement for public-private regeneration projects, and setting out findings for innovative on-the-ground approaches to community engagement for urban renewal. Golden presented the research background, methodology, and key data gathered from a 2016 symposium organised by Golden and Dawe at Ulster University Belfast. Golden's presentation disseminated research findings and original insights into deliberations on policy and skills capacity to addresses consultation fatigue through good decision-making practice and more effective policy implementation, including models and tools that can inform policy to better articulate community need for regeneration projects, and to better integrate government and other agencies in community engagement and planning processes.
