Invited talk at BBC Royal Charter consultation event

I spoke at a BBC Royal Charter consultation event, held at Ulster University on 5 March 2026.
Hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Bartholomew, and run in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast, Phil’s talk opened the event, setting the context for the DCMS Green Paper as part of the Royal Charter renewal process.

The event was chaired by Dame Rotha Johnston (formerly BBC Trustee, Pro Chancellor at Queen’s University Belfast and Deputy Chair of Invest Northern Ireland).

Participants included representatives from: Northern Ireland Screen, Arts and Business NI, the Strategic Investment Board, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Tourism NI, Studio Ulster and Future Screens NI, the Open University, and Queen's University Belfast.
