In this interactive panel, we reflect on our memories of Beckett at Enniskillen as presented through the Happy Days Festival and think through the complex relationship between a place, its artistic associations, and the meaning of cultural heritage. We tentatively suggest that Beckett and the Happy Days Festival might be viewed as a gateway of sorts, a way of opening a conversation about place and placemaking, as well as a testing ground for how artistic legacy might be utilised.
