Description
This oral presentation explored how residents of informal settlements in Sub-Saharan Africa perceived the COVID-19 pandemic and the indigenous coping strategies they adopted in response. Drawing on community-based evidence, it highlighted local knowledge systems, adaptive behaviours, and the role of social networks in managing health risks in resource-constrained settings. The presentation contributed to discussions on context-sensitive public health interventions at the 16th UK and Ireland Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Meeting held at TU Dublin, Ireland.
