A-Level students from Oakgrove Integrated College to Ulster University’s Derry~Londonderry campus for an engaging Digital Discovery Day focused on blockchain and emerging technologies.
Organised by John Keers BL, Dr Priyank Shukla and Dr Vimal Dwivedi PhD, the interactive sessions explored the real-world applications of blockchain and cryptocurrency, alongside the rapidly evolving legal and regulatory frameworks shaping digital innovation.
Students demonstrated impressive critical thinking as they examined how emerging technologies are transforming law, governance and public services. The event aimed to equip young people with the tools to better understand and question the technologies influencing their futures.
The initiative was supported by funding from the Garfield Weston Foundation, helping to create a dynamic and accessible learning experience for aspiring future professionals.
Special thanks were extended to Darryl McCullagh from Ulster University’s Widening Access team for coordinating and facilitating the event.
