Design Week Fringe Event: UX Design - the Importance of Human-Centric Thinking

As part of the Belfast Design Week Catalyst Inc. are looking forward to having Dr Justin Magee, Research Director for Art & Design from Connect member company Ulster University, provide guidance on the importance of UX Design for early stage products. Justin is a Senior Lecturer in Product Design and has worked for companies such as LEGO Systems, Mercedes Benz, Smart, Randox as well as many SME’s and entrepreneurs. He will share three recent case studies where UX design informed design decisions for online learning, app development and VR applications. The projects include IZAK9, Diabetes West and CDE Global. The workshop is focused on Innovation driven entrepreneurs and start-ups seeking to deepen their understanding of UX and how it can enhance their business model, providing added value and novelty. UX is a human-centric model of working and some methods and techniques will be shared, which have diverse application including digital products, service design and business decision making. Let’s not become a nation of ‘me-too thinkers’, let’s put UX first. Who should attend? Innovation focused entrepreneurs and startups
