Description
This panel talk was organised by Dr Clare Gallagher alongside the Curating Activism exhibition. It brought together four of the participating artists: staff members Dr Emma Campbell and Dr Laura O'Connor, and PhD researchers Sarah Tehan and Aidan O'Neill. Led by Dr Emma Campbell, the talk focused on the ideas and challenges surrounding the portrayal of marginalised voices, examining diverse communities and issues connected by Belfast. The discussion also addressed the role of cultural institutions in raising awareness about implicit biases in curation and the world of art. The panelists explored the key themes of the exhibition, and the responsibility of cultural institutions to engage with the community and provide an inclusive space that promotes learning and social change.Period | 14 Apr 2024 |
