This talk explores emerging collaborations and research opportunities across three interconnected initiatives: BioDirect 2, Future Island–Island, and the RISC+ Networks. It will highlight how these programmes enable interdisciplinary and cross-sector engagement across the island of Ireland and the wider UK, supporting the green transition through bio-based innovation, circular design, and sustainable materials research. The presentation will outline pathways for collaboration between academia, industry, policy, and communities, and identify opportunities for researchers, SMEs, and partners to engage in pilot projects, demonstrators, and network-led innovation.
