Dr Golden was invited to present his research experience and international expertise on sustainable design and shared space (SDSS) to selected participants taking part in "The Climate Exploration Hub (CEH)" a 6-month study to "Re-imagining Gaborone's open spaces with a green approach.' CEH is a climate services institution working with students and younger professionals in Africa. Dr Golden spoke to a mixed international audience including Dr Obakeng Sethamo (Programme Coordinator The Southern African science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management, SASSCAL), and students/staff from University of Botswana (across urban planning, engineering, public administration, finance & banking, sports managment and social sciences disciplines). He presented about his SDSS research with rainwater harvesting, blue and green infrastructure, and transdisciplinary approaches to integrated architecture, urban design, sustainable technology, and societal impacts in Ghana (GCRF Pump-Priming Funded). Dr Golden's talk relates also to his continuing work in Ghana, Botswana, and Malawi to develop UKRI projects with local partners including SASSCAL and participants from the University of Botswana, as well as industry contributors African Sun Energy and Empowered Fintech Ltd, with links to concurrent Ulster University Centre for Sustainable Technologies and NIBEC research in Botswana and SSAfrica.
