I participated and ran the first of the four main 'Broadcasting Policy in a Devolved UK research' workshops.

I also presented three papers as part of the event.

•‘Production in Wales, and production for Wales – among the PSBs’
•‘Broadcasting Policy in a Devolved UK: the Curious Case of Northern Ireland’
•‘England, and the question of devolving broadcasting powers: to where and to whom?’

We were joined by a range of people from academia, policy making, broadcasting, trades unions, media regulation, government/legislative agencies, the independent production sector, independent consultants, and representatives of other interest /civil society groups: Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd; Prifysgol Aberystwyth University; Royal Television Society Cymru; National Union of Journalists; Ofcom; ITV Cymru Wales; Cymdeithas yr Iaith; Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru / Welsh Independent Producers; Creative Wales / Cymru Greadigol; Senedd Research, Welsh Parliament; S4C.

Discussions ranged from defining the devolution of broadcasting, the perceived benefits for and challenges of its possible implementation, and the wider effects on politics, society and the economy.
