Description
I participated and ran the third of the four main 'Broadcasting Policy in a Devolved UK research' workshops.I also presented a paper as part of the event:
•‘‘Broadcasting Policy in a Devolved UK: broadcasting in an uncertain union”
We were joined by a range of participants from academia, and the independent production; broadcasting, and screen agency sectors.
Discussions ranged from: defining the devolution of broadcasting in the context of Scotland – where the subject has been rooted in many years of debates; to a consideration of a range of ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ options for devolution, and the possible benefits and drawbacks of each; to a wider sense of how major developments in the political-economy of the media industries is rapidly shifting the ground on which this debate takes place.
