BFFS provided an introduction to feminist filmmaking as part of Belfast Festival of Learning 2023. Twenty participants worked in small groups to produce 1min films using their own mobile phones. After watching feminist films and learning some mobile videography techniques, they put our newfound knowledge into practice. This event was for anyone over 15 years old who wanted to understand more about women-centred film, whatever their gender. It was for feminists who want to use filmmaking to tell stories, or for storytellers who wanted to learn more about feminism; people who already describe themselves as feminist, and people who want to understand what that means. It was especially for people who have always wanted to make a film, but were not sure where to start. Our week-long 2022 Belfast Feminist Film School was fully booked and feedback was overwhelmingly positive – this one-day workshop brought a taster version to more people.| Period | 25 Mar 2023 |
