Description
An important aspect of a fire engineered design is the ability to accurately model the evacuation of the diverse range of building populations of today and in the future. This presentation will comprise a preliminary analysis of experiments (conducted at Lund University and University College Dublin (UCD)) which sought to explore the microscopic characteristics of individuals’ movement in a crowd. Gait and crowd movement characteristics such as step length, step extent, step frequency, contact buffer, interpersonal distance, and their interrelationships will be explored. Implications for evacuation modelling and next steps in the PhD research will be discussed.| Period | 25 Mar 2022 |
