Description
This presentation delves into the vital yet often overlooked role of physical activity (PA) in stroke prevention and rehabilitation. We scrutinise existing literature to uncover gaps and insights in PA interventions specific to stroke patients, addressing key areas such as definitions, demographics, outcome measures, and implementation challenges. Through a scoping review and survey of physiotherapists, we reveal disparities in knowledge, implementation, and measurement practices. We propose solutions, including education initiatives tailored to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy programmes, aimed at enhancing PA interventions across the stroke care continuum. This research seeks to empower clinicians with the tools and understanding needed to optimise stroke rehabilitation outcomes through evidence-based PA interventions.Period | 15 May 2024 → 17 May 2024 |
